I guess this is the first post I can file under “Girls”….

My lovely girlfriend threw down a bet recently whilst out at an anniversary meal with the drummer for My Great Affliction. That bet was that she could raise £1000 in a month for Macmillan Cancer Support. The reward for doing so was that she gets to shave off my shoulder-length hair.

Since it’s taken about 2 and a half years to grow my hair out to this length, and it’s the third time of trying to get my hair long, I was reluctant, but confident that she wouldn’t raise the funds, I accepted the bet. However I added the caveat that if I have to go through with it and shave my hair off, I would like to donate it to the Little Princess Trust.

Today marks 25 days remaining of the challenge, and the running total raised sits at £200.

Not the first time I’ve done something stupid for charity, last year Craig (My Great Affliction) and myself were asked to pose naked for a Macmillan Cancer Charity Calendar. It is Still For Sale and any money raised from this goes directly to charity, too!
