Steven Gough's Bio.

Urban LandscapeWell, where to start. Having always been somewhat vaguely into photography, and admiring a good quality photograph, Steven always showed an aspiration of being able to also take a good photo. But never having the funds nor the inclination to go out and buy enough SLR equipment to get started, whilst being taken seriously, Photography never really took off as a hobby of his.

Instead, he took to other hobbies, such as Shooting, Web Design, Learning to play guitar - which eventually ended up with Steven Being in a band and having photos taken of himself - and more recently cars, and the modifying scene became a part of Steven's life. Lets face it, most of these past-times have photos involved somewhere, Shooting in the sense of a hobby, not so much, but webdesign, working with a big name photographer and his website gave Steven direct contact within the photography scene. Playing guitar and being in bands, having cameras pointed in his face and seeing the expression and the emotion of himself rocking out at the end of it via these photographs was an amazing experience, and I thank Wiffle (the photographer that took many, many photos of my band) for letting Monolith use and view all the many thousand images he shot. Which in-directly made Steven want to do photography a little bit more once the band ended.

Monolith, Steven's Band from 2004-2007 Was a very big part of Steven's Life, and when it all ended, it left Steven with little to do with his time. Car Modyfying then took over for a little while, and Steven visited photoshoots at studios for the cars and at every meet, there were cameras, and soon Steven Started borrowing his dads Fuji Camera to take too, as he always thought that he could take more interesting photos of the cars.

Later in the year Stevens Father took more of an interest in the photography world and bought a Canon 40d D-SLR camera, which Steven then took an interest in.

By Christmas Steven decided he wanted to purchase his own D-SLR and bought the Canon 400d (partially so he could borrow his fathers other lenses, and partially because he didnt have the £1200 to buy the 40d, although the difference in quality on the photos at this level is negligable).

Steven is now open to taking photos of bands, and other interesting sights, such as landscapes, cars and whatever else may take his interest, to see examples, please visit the Galleries page.
